Considering Mardi Gras 5,200 capacity, Carnival will have to go above and beyond to provide adequate cruising experience for those who like open decks on a cruise.
The ship will have two main pools (central pool area and an aft looking pool).
A small splash pool is expected on the top open deck forward.
An extensive waterworks will be right behind the funnel.
There will be a lengthy promenade deck on the Mardi Gras.
Unfortunately (per current plans) it will not be a full-circle promenade like on the Dream-class ships.
The promenade is mysteriously cut in two separate parts in the middle near the Atrium...
A possible explanation for this decision is a desire to separate Havana Area that may take the forward part of the promenade.
P&O plans give us a hint to understanding this potential issue.
I call it an issue because a large full-circle promenade that is free of "exclusive areas" and open to all will be vital for this 5,200 ship.
The ship will not have a forward observation deck.
This happens first time in Carnival history (please correct me if I am wrong).
