What Inside Cabin to choose?
A good reason to book inside cabins is to save and still have a great cruising vacation, as most cruisers spend minimum time in their cabins.
Most inside cabins on Mardi Gras are below, let's say, industry standards in terms of size.
In simple words, they are narrow shoe boxes.
However, there are about 120 cabins on the Mardi Gras that I call "Square insides".
Don't look for this definition in the deck plans. These cabins are hidden below misleading cabin price categories.
As it happens sometimes, different cabins (size, convenience, value for money) are marked under the same price categories.
So, unless you don't do your homework, you may miss the best bang for your buck.
Opinions may vary, but my experience tells me that, despite the same limited square footage, the "Square insides" are more convenient due to their square shape - please see the picture below.
The #1 option for Inside Cabins is these four cabins on Deck 10: 10357, 10361, 10365, 10369. They are 25% larger that typical Square Insides (not listed as accessible cabins!)
A good example of a Square Inside is 14486, especially if you want to be loser to the buffet & sun deck;
Thoughts on inside room on deck 4 or 5? It is 1 adult, 2 kids. Not wanting to feel any movement of ship. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the delay. You are correct. Decks 4 and 5 midships are preferable. happy cruising!
DeleteAny idea how to tell what the room configuration will be with the interlocking cabins, looking at 5370.
ReplyDeleteHi Chuck,
DeleteInterlocking cabins are set up in pairs. The left side cabin should have the bed by the balcony.
Assuming 5370 is a carbon copy of a standard balcony cabin (minus the balcony), the bed should be by the bathroom, as typical balcony cabins for four passengers tend to feature extra beds (sofa + pullman) by the balcony. However this block of cabins (5362-5376) could be an exception. Happy cruising!
