Q & A. Where is my cabin?

0. Please review this first
    Corrected misprints:
12387 is not a connected cabin
    12391 & 12395 are connected

1. Cove balcony 5235 - Is it a good location?

IMO 5235 is a nice cove balcony.
Not too close to the bow, however for the TA repositioning cruise I would choose a midship position.
5235 has not the best position for a cove balcony due to the lifeboat above, but this is expected for this type of balconies.
The cabin is below the Comedy Club. Usually all the activities there subside by midnight anyway.

2. Thalassotherapy Pool on Mardi Gras?

Per the published information, there will be no proper thalassotherapy pool on Mardi Gras.

Spa on Mardi Gras, therapy pool, hydropool

3. BTW,  What is a PROPER spa (therapy pool) on cruise ships?

4. What is a Junior Balcony?

A Junior Balcony cabin is a shorter and narrower version of a regular Mardi Gras balcony cabin:

Carnival Mardi Gras cabins, staterooms, suites

5. So I take it, on port side if you look at joining cabins, the one to the left has the bed by the bathroom and the one to the right to the balcony..? (Cruisegirl6)

Yes this will work for the Mardi Gras as a general pattern. There "may be" exceptions though.
On the cruise ships like this one, the regular pattern may not work in some points like the spots where assembly blocks are connected, or where  standard cabins border cabins with a different layout.

Logically,  the layout #1 will be on the ship. However there may be a different decision (#2) for this particular spot.

6. Cove Balcony 5215

As good as most cove balconies, but not the best one. There are lifeboats above the balcony. The location is a bit close to the bow, where some spray from the bow may be present depending on the sea condition. Bed near bathroom.

7. 12354
Excellent location. Extra large balcony. BBB (Bed By the Bathroom).

Carnival Mardi Gras 12354

8.  15409 /15407

Carnival Mardi Gras 15409

9. What are the best balcony rooms on this ship? And is it worth the extra money for an extended balcony?

Best locations are those from the "green" category that are located midships above the Atrium (no promenade deck down below).
Is it worth extra money for an extended balcony?
If you are a "balcony cruiser" and spend much time on the balcony, or you prefer forward or aft views, then yes. But note that forward looking extended balconies are so deep, that the cabin can be somewhat dark.
IMO a regular balcony will be just fine. I would choose any of the green category & bed near balcony & nor connecting doors.

If you like the aft views: Accessible cabins have larger balconies. Standard balconies between them are from the "green" category too.

10. Cabin 4249

11. Got cove balcony 5393 was wondering if it was a good place to have a balcony room?

With the lifeboat directly above, this is not the best location for a cove balcony, but not bad.

12. 5318
My data show 5318 has the bed near bathroom. Despite the JawaBlue cafĂ© above, I like the location.

13. 5392

14. 11274

15.  Forward Corner Suite (Starboard)
A similar view of the balcony on the near sister ship.

16. Cabin 11414

17.  Cabin 5207

18. Doors in Connected Cabins

19. 10492 Aft Suite
Highlited in green: preferred locations.

    1. 16288 is below the service area. Connecting door. For these reasons it's not a recommended cabin.
The bed is by the balcony. Refrigerator - yes.

  6. Hi TCruiser40, 5207 should have the bed by the bathroom, and it's a connected cabin.
The locations directly under lifeboats are typical for deck 5 as it's natural for cove balconies.
    Happy cruising!

    1. please take a look at the quick explanation that starts at 07:27 mark. In order to squeeze more passengers in a given space, standard size cabins have been replaced with narrow interlocking cabins on the Mardi Gras. Cabins are set up in pairs with a curved ("zag-zag" or "interlocking") walls between them. The outer walls of each pair are straight. The interconnecting doors can only be placed in the straight walls. So the interconnecting symbol on the deck plans means "straight wall". With rare exceptions, the "bed near the balcony" layouts will be on the right hand side of the straight walls, and vice versa. Sorry for the delay...

  9. Hi! We're currently on Deck 9 but after watching this video I want to move our balcony ASAP. 10347 & 12476 are still available and seem to be in good conditions based on your video. What are the pros & cons of each? Also, what would their room set up look like? Thanks!

    1. So sorry about the delay... Maybe someone else will have the same question... Both are "bed by the balcony". Both have larger than standard balcony (12476 is larger). 10347 - somewhat close to the aft end of the Havana area (a tub called a "pool"). 10347 - quieter hallway. 12476 - uninterrupted views.

  12. THIS IS AWESOME INFORMATION. Can you tell me if the bed in Room #15257 is near the Balcony or near the bathroom. I, like most people I believe would want it near the balcony. Also, if it is near the bathroom is do you think there is any possibility to switch it so it's near the balcony? Any assistance would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks.
